A catalogue number which used to appear every now and then in
search engines and has since disappeared entirely, VSCDT1650 is
likely to be the number for Dead Cities' scrapped third single,
Yage. The single was rumoured for a long time, and eventually
alternative versions and remixes began appearing with the
appearance of FSOLDigital.
Both My Kingdom and We Have Explosive featured dnb remixes by
Leon as 'Part 2', and as Oil he provided a similar mix which
appeared on the band's live shows in the late 1990s, as well as
the Teachings From The Electronic Brain film. Hallucination is an
earlier version of the track which has appeared several times on
ISDN shows, DJ mixes and archive albums, later remixed as Sunset
Strip, featuring on Electric Brain Storm 1 and edited to Insulin,
and on Electric Brain Storms 2 the album version featured in an
ambient version 'Bejing'. It is possible other Dead Cities-era
tracks as featured on From The Archives, such as Hidden Sign,
Absent With Concept, Yashica and others, would have appeared,
alongside a possible radio edit.
