The Future
Sound Of London - Room 208 (06:12)
Available on: Lifeforms

Notes:
Other than its bird sample intro, this track stands out within
the album for its funky bassline, reminiscent of the more
groove-based experiments the band would conduct for the ISDN
album. The slightly sleazy, suggestive tone to the funky bass can
be explained by the title:
"A hotel room in Barcelona - Pinn and Yage leaving the art
futura show spied two Spanish flowers coyly looking at them -
inviting them to join them in the waiting cab they toured the
towns bars asking for beans on toast until the whole bar joined
in - by this time losing one of the flowers - they were faced
with a dilemma she obviously preferred Pinn but on returning to
room 208 she solved the problem taking Yages hand and Pinns in
the other she said 'you boys be gentle with me'". An
alternative mix, Room 207,
appeared many years later when trawling through the audio
archives.
