As a compromise, for Jumpin' & Pumpin's trance remixes by Satoshi Tomiie and Hybrid, Dougans and Cobain requested remixes by Blue States and their friends, Simian, for the 2001 release of Papua New Guinea. The Simian Mix is truly bizarre, a slow, plodding affair, with creaking noises, squelching synths, a sinister vocal melody, squeaky clarinets and other unusual sounds. The piece is extremely fun and fits in well with the mood of the band's psychedelic work.
