The
Amorphous Androgynous - Marylebone Road (04:12)
Available on: The Peppermint Tree & The Seeds Of
Superconsciousness
Lyrics:
Melissa lives in her head
She thinks she's better there instead
The only time she comes out to play
Is when she's making love today
Life's a blinder when you find her
Life's a downer when you've found her
Melissa lives on the Marylebone Road
It's never really been a home
All her things arranged in her head
The only time she comes out to play
Is when she's making love
She's making love
No it's warm and the trees are smiling
If it snows the sun is lying
She's making love
She's making love
Sometimes I can come and take a look
Until she decides I've seen enough
Melissa lives on the 17th floor
But she doesn't get high no more
So I smile and look around
Breathing her I kiss the ground
I'm there cos she thinks of me
In all the shapes and ways to be
When her head turns dark
She wishes for the real world
I'd like to talk and paint an image to make her smile
Until we're making love
Until we're making love
Notes:
One of the titles that circulated prior to The Isness was
Marylebone Road, the track featured on the same pictures page as Drifter. After nothing was heard, and ithaving
partially turned into Goodbye Sky, due to the credit "from the original
recordings with Mikey Rowe 'Marylebone Road'", the song was
forgotten. However, it turned up on the Peppermint Tree album in
2008. The brass section is the same as that on Goodbye Sky, but
the song itself is a more fast-paced, rhythmic track with
distorted vocals.
