Amorphous
Androgynous - Goodbye Sky (04:35)
Available on: The Otherness, The Isness (Abbey Road version)
Lyrics:
The sun will shine for you
And there's nothing I can do
So goodbye sky, goodbye sky
La la lala lala la
She's dreaming at the edge of this world
Nobody knows that she's my girl
Don't cry, don't cry
I know your smile
But I don't know why the sun is so shy
So she
The moon and the stars they don't love but
Thoughts fracture light years above me
In this icy universe she keeps me warm
La la la la
Goobye sky, goodbye sky
Goodbye
Notes:
The very silly, brass led Goodbye Sky has little to do with its reprise, especially after it was removed from
the final mix of The Isness. It was later released on the remix
album, The Otherness. The song is heavily inspired by Beatles
psychedelia, and features heavily flanged vocals. The lyrics
appear to be a gobbledegook lovesong. The song was from 'initial
cigarette plunge recordings with Mikey Rowe and Marylebone Road',
suggesting this may be what originally became of musically
similar Marylebone Road, before its reappearance on The Peppermint Tree.
On The Isness, the track is standalone, whilst it segues from Yo-Yo on The Otherness.
