Lyrics:
You're not as old as the trees,
Not as young as the leaves
You're not as free as the breeze,
Not as open as the seas
And your heart hasn't found a home,
Endlessly it seems to roam
But one day you will find inexhaustable ecstacy
And you will see...
That you're beautiful and always have been
And everybody else can see
The love that you've been looking for
Is right there inside your door
Little Miss Divinity,
You're the one that you've been looking for
Little Miss Divinity,
Won't you lay your love on thee
Hey now now now now now hey now, na na hey
Hey now now now now now hey now, na na hey
And if you need a friend, I'll be sailing right by your side
And if you need a lover, you must leave it all behind
And if you need direction, the world can seem unkind
So listen closely my love, you have time
You're doing fine
Hey now now now now now hey now, na na hey
Hey now now now now now hey now, na na hey
Hey now now now now now hey now, na na hey
Hey now now now now now hey now, na na hey
Hey now now now now now hey now, na na hey
Notes:
Originally titled Little Miss Divinity, this song was lined up
for the first single from The Isness in 1999. This never
happened, and the final single plans were eventually scrapped in
2004. The only difference between the Abbey Road and final
versions comes in the break between the intro section and the
'main' song - the Abbey Road version is longer, with a short
vocal "you're doing fine" part and a guitar solo,
whilst the final version is shorter and with a piano solo. The
song is a beautiful acoustic ballad, and probably the biggest
opinion-splitter amongst the band's fans. The lyrics are a simple
tale of loving yourself and being happy with who you ar, a
general sentiment, although the 'if you need a lover...' line
suggests it could be directed at someone in particular, perhaps a
love interest of Gaz's at the time. A version was also recorded
with Donovan on vocal duties, although it remains unreleased.
