The Future
Sound Of London - Bird Wings (01:29)
Available on: Lifeforms
Lyrics:
None
Notes:
The drum-like sounds in this track are recordings of birds
flapping, hence the title. Gaz explains:
"The mikes were set up under the pigeon's nest outside the
studio door - the pigeons were inert in the cosy heat - Josh with
the dreads threw a fag packet at them and suddenly they sprang
into life - Yage immediately fed it through the machines -
pitching it into an awesome swooosh of flapping wings".
The track itself is a short environmental interlude, carrying the
piece from the desert wind of Flak to a gentle rainstorm that opens Dead Skin
Cells.
