New (old) 12"
releases, shop updates
19/05/07
Bit of news on a
few 12"s that have turned up recently, or are due to turn up
in the future:
First up, Papua New Guinea is to see another re-release (just in
case, you know, we weren't quite sick of it yet). Herd + White
have given it three house makeovers. The record has actually been
out for a month on Jumpin' & Pumpin', unknown to us,
catalogue number 12TOT45. Side A features Herd & White's
remix, with Side B including Herd & White's No Acid Mix and
Herd & White's Radio Mix. A sample of one track can be heard here. It says all three can be heard, but all
the samples are the same.
Second up, FSOL
are to release four tracks from their Archives series on a
12" EP, with initial pressings to come in a 'full colour
collectors sleeve'. The record is also, bizarrely, released on
Jumpin' & Pumpin', catalogue number 12TOT46. The tracks are
Brujo (from Archives Volume 2), Lizzard Crawl, Space Squids and
Mouth Muse. The record is out on 28th May 2007. And here's a
thumbnail of the cover with a nice Astralwerks tag on it:

Hello again, Vit.
Released last September, this one slipped by us: Lifeforms/Explosive remix promo 12" for the Teachings compilation, featuring 2006 re-edits of Lifeforms paths 1 and 4 (album version) of Lifeforms by Wighnomy Brothers & Robag Wruhmes Simetikon, and King Roc's remix of We Have Explosive. The promo is still available on a few online outlets, although the mixes are hardly anything to rave about - another for collectors only.
This selection of releases has been added to the discography.
Talking of collectors only, we've found a bunch more white label 12" remixes of Papua, another release of the High Contrast one, alongside one by Wickaman (yet again titled Papa New Guinea). I've stuck these far away in the bootleg section.
FSOLDigital.com has been updated. Vastly. Alongside something upcoming called Free Loaded, and the upcoming Amorphous Androgynous 'Peppermint Tree' mini album, you can now purchase a hefty back-catalogue of rare material on casette, vinyl and CD. Pretty much the band's entirely back catalogue, other than a few pre-Accelerator blips, is available. You can even download the Metropolis EP!
