I was in the car with my parents, driving through a misty, icy landscape on Christmas Eve 2009, with carols playing quietly through the car radio, and the whole scene seemed thoroughly ambient, so I decided I'd record a Christmas-themed record for release the following festive season. Recorded at various points throughout the following year, the Christmas EP saw me working with traditional music for the first time, including adapting my favourite carol Lully Lullay (The Coventry Carol) into parts 1 and 4 of the record. Fittingly, the EP is probably my most sombre and peaceful Second Thought work.
In 2011 I made the EP available as a high quality multi-format 'name your price' download through Bandcamp.
